Theatresports Poem by Rose Stern

Theatresports

I always come in carefully,
Watchful of everyone's moods,
I start of either by myself,
Or talking with someone who isn't you.
When we head on in,
I don't make a sound,
Waiting to see if you interact,
With me, or just go around.
When we all circle up,
I try to be close to you,
But always with one person in between,
So it doesn't seem like I'm trying,
We do our rating, out of 5,
And that tells me how to act,
I joke with you and tease you,
You always have a comeback.
That is when my day starts to pick up,
Not when we all go home,
But when we're pretending,
And laughing,
I finally feel at home.
