Then And Now Poem by yakubu abukari n

Then And Now

Then…
You were that rare earth metal
The world could not find
You were that priceless medal
One of your kind
Yet you were mine and I thine
Now…
I am not bound
By some oath you say I swore
Not to Zeus; No, not to Thor
Nor to the god of love or war
To love you anymore

I have now not found
In you what I saw
Kindness and love so raw
Not the smile I yearned for
Nor your manners that shook my core
