Then And Now Poem by Thomas Becker

Then And Now

What has become of the America that I've known.
Now the free and the brave hide in their home.
In the 60's the people came together they were heard.
Now its the inter net to look at the digital word.
Then was the time of long hair, peace sign and sit ins.
Now would be jailed, fined and reminded of your sins.
Then drop out, turn on, showed we could make a stand.
Now its stay put, plug in and listen to a programed band.
Then flowers, hemp and acid showed us our soul.
Now ATM cards, mortgage and jobs show our slave role.
Than was at the beach, the wood or in the cites street.
Now its TV, chat rooms and few get on there feet.
Then we know its all about the big numbers.
Now it seam mankind is in a deep slumber.
Then we look at the future with eyes of hope.
Now its around our neck tidier gets the rope.
Then we would sing and dance in the rain.
Now the chem-trail rain will make you insane.
Then Ho-la hoops, Pogo sticks and ice cream cones.
Now its CD games, big screen TV's and 4g phones.
Then we had 4th of July firer works, parades and apple pies.
Now terrorists bombs, false flags and inter net spy’s.
Then we look to the future with love and open arms.
Now its seams we are just cows on free range farms.
Then we had the will power and the keys to change.
Now it would seam the World is just totality insane.
