Then I Met You Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Then I Met You

I've been through hardships, and through sorrow.
I never knew what to expect tomorrow.
I had given up on love and was about to give in.
Then I met you and my new life could begin.

I'd been in love before and had happiness too,
But deep down I knew it wasn't really true.
I guess I didn't know what love was all about,
Then I met you and I seemed to lose all doubt.

My heart had been broken and healed before,
And every time it happened; I came back for more.
I knew it could happen, but I never knew when,
Then I met you and I know it won't happen again.

I've lived a full life but have had some regrets.
I've done things in my life that I'd rather forget.
Looking back now, I wonder how did it last?
Then I met you and I don't dwell on the past.

I look forward to tomorrow and what life has in store,
With you, every day is happiness, and I can't wait for more.
My life was missing pieces and all I felt was defeat.
Then I met you and I can say that my life is now complete.
