There Are Days Now/Without Much Poetry Poem by Shalom Freedman

There Are Days Now/Without Much Poetry

There are days now
Without much poetry
I do not read
I lose the need to write
I sing sometimes
And I listen to other kinds of voices
Within myself-
But Poetry in its special rhythm
Does not call me
And I wonder if I ever really wrote it-
But instead enjoyed hearing from others a Beauty beyond me
I will always love
