There I Go Again: Poem by Georgia Hindmarch

There I Go Again:

The Sadness rushes out of me
A wave, relentlessly crashing on shore
I'm trying hard to be the best I can be
I swear. Take a breath.

The Sadness is not just an ocean or a sea
But it's a breathing torrent swirling in my mind
My body the host: it clings to me
I swear. Take a breath.

Maybe one day this Sadness will consume me
- Or maybe it has already done that
I'm trying so hard not to become the sea
I swear. Breathe, breathe, breathe.

I swear
That I'll get better
I swear
That I'll try
I'm drowning in the Sea of Sadness
And I'll never know why.
