There Is Always Powerball Poem by Francis Duggan

There Is Always Powerball

Of course there is always Powerball a nine million to one chance of a division one win
And though the odds may be stacked against you for to win you have got to be in
And the battling woman has a ticket for the jacxpot draw on thursday night
And if she is the lucky big winner she will celebrate until daylight,
To her life is such a great battle with four young children to clothe and feed
Her husband has moved in with his mistress and she is in financial need
Since he is not paying her alimony and this for her to problems does lead
To try to raise four children on a Government benefit is a poverty line existence indeed
Tonight she may be a huge winner although chances of that very small
Tonight some few may get lucky the huge Powerball jackpot might fall
She might be one of those lucky people all things do come to those who do wait
And she will be a deserving winner and with joy she will celebrate,
Tonight is the huge Powerball jackpot and she is in there with the tiniest chance
Of winning or sharing first division and yes she will laugh, sing and dance.
