There Is Something Poem by Mohammad Younus

There Is Something

There is something
That I trusted as reality,
Unaware of my eternal home,
Thinking life so short,
Fleeting like vapor to the sky.
I thought of nothing else but death.
I didn't know life was a continuity,
An unbreakable water stream.

Who would I be
If the curtain of death
Were drawn aside?
I was thinking of You,
The Eternal Truth—
I hope I'll be strong enough
To get through this
Chasm of death,
To pick up life's thread
And see the immortal face
Of who I am.

There's only one Life
Who's been in my corner,
Only one who's always
Been there for me—
Who makes me feel
That I am His living thought,
Who allows me to be
Just like Him, in His image.

After a while of wonder,
The truth is, I love You.
I love You so much because
You are me; I am You.
