"There's A Lot Of Nothing In The World" Poem by Shalom Freedman

"There's A Lot Of Nothing In The World"

"There's a lot of Nothing in the world"
Said my Uncle Larry - alone and old and childless -

And Space- dark and empty And Time stretching on and on and on
And generation after generation gone-

Nothing and nothing and more nothingFor all of us-

And I in my old age
Not alone not childless
Holding on against the Nothing
Praying it is not
The end of it all
And beyond somehow
God will rescue us all.
