There's Nuffink Like A Pot Noodle! Poem by Denis Martindale

There's Nuffink Like A Pot Noodle!

There's nuffink like a Pot Noodle
To start a brand new day,
For skinflints wot are frugal,
Or kids like me, OK?
There's flavours wot are spicy,
In four-packs goin' cheap,
As the four-packs ain't as pricy,
I've backups I can keep.
Sometimes I scoop some powder off,
That's on the right-hand side,
Although I know that some may scoff
This tip I've still applied.
To top up wot I eat instead
To supplement my fix,
Sometimes I get some wholemeal bread,
Small pieces cut for six.
And dunk each piece as if to scoop
The hot liquid above
Be coz to me it's just like soup,
A taste wot I can love.
If there's no bread, I'll use a spoon,
And scoop and scoop again,
But not for long, as pretty soon
It's time for noodles, then.
And so, in earnest, I begin,
To chomp and chew once more,
On noodles short and noodles thin,
And noodles there galore.
Time passes, so I've chewed a lot!
It's then I feel bereft!
Be coz there's nuffink in the pot!
All gone! And nuffink left!

Here is a brand-new breakfast poem by the Poemhunter poet Denis Martindale. The poem is about a young boy who hasn't passed his O Level English exam yet, so he uses his version of the Mother tongue somewhat differently.

The title is: 'THERE'S NUFFINK LIKE A POT NOODLE! '

In this poem, the little boy explains how he enjoys a Pot Noodle. If the taste is too strong, he scoops out some of the spicy powder. He supplements the tasty dish with two slices of wholemeal bread. He divides these into smaller pieces so he can dunk the bread into the top of the pot. Some flavours taste like soup, so he slurps away merrily for a minute or two. Then it's Noodle Time! But it doesn't take him long to reach the end of his little feast, and for him, it's a funny feeling to be happy and yet unhappy at the same time!
