These Broken Pieces Poem by Marcus French

These Broken Pieces

In the absence of companionship
One seems to analyze his emotions
Bundled up like an infant
he wraps broken pieces of his heart in an impenetrable exterior.

One comes to notice individuals in his environment as they merge
With others of the opposite sex
And together hold a magnificent object towards the heavens.

One starts to questions to his God who shall my merger be...
Who shall assist me in holding up our own possesion of such excellence...
Why do I obtain these broken pieces...
When... Who... Is there one for me....?

A calm voice then answers 'reveal your broken pieces and I shall resolve this cry, this question, this want, and need'
He looks down and finds his heart unwrapped...
Free...
From the hard exterior weighing down his body, capturing his mind, and that suffocated his soul.

Still...
His heart was broken
But every piece was polished and clean.
And the voice says 'soon the one that assembles your heart will be known as your queen'
