They Always Say They Love You Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

They Always Say They Love You

They always say they love you
And they'll never leave you
Then they say I'm sorry
They didn't mean to deceive you

They want to drag your heart around
and get the last word in besides
Then your lost and feeling down
Crying out your whole insides

I don't know where I'm going to go
I so tired of running anyway
I always dreamed that love would grow
and now we've thrown it away

I'm so sick of love's lies
I know it's all an empty game
I carry all the guilt
I might as well take all the blame

Brokenhearted promises
You know beforehand you're going to lose
All love's ever been good for
Is giving me the blues
