They Do Complain Poem by Francis Duggan

They Do Complain

The pollitical leaders we choose in it's own way
Of us does say more than words can ever say
We choose to elect them to office on election day
For our mistakes in life always some price to pay
The politicians who represent us in parliament are our karmic due
That the majority get what they voted for happens to be true
But it does seem beyond me in words to explain
That the majority about the people they voted to office see fit to complain
No matter who is in government it is always the same
At the high cost of living the politicians they blame
With their public representatives they voted for they are not satisfied
That most people are hard to please can hardly be denied
But in politics the majority of voters get what they voted for the fact does remain
And after the election about their government they do complain.
