They Do Poem by David Howerton

They Do

Colors try brighten day
but sadness to deep
for their reach.

Get some coffee
sit in shade
watch cars
on evening rush.

Take a sip
of coffee
smell of hot brakes
over powers.
Leaving bad taste,
coffee washes away.

Smell of hot brakes
upsets stomach but
now feeling better.

Colors bright day
reach deep finally.
