They Hammering, Hammering And Smashing Gandhara Buddha Statue Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

They Hammering, Hammering And Smashing Gandhara Buddha Statue

O what are you hammering,
Hammering
To destroy
A Buddha statue,
A rare antique statue of Buddha,
The ancient life-size statue
Of Buddha
Smashing,
Smashing into pieces,
But keep it,
Keep it in mind,
O destroyer,
You can never,
Never the spirit of Buddhism,
Buddhism,
Buddha and Buddhism,
We shall replicate it,
Replicate and rebuild it
The Gandhara Buddha
Found!

To vandalise a statue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Which was but Gandhara
In the past,
But found in Takhtbai tehsil
Of Mardan District of Pakistan
With a sledgehammer
The ancient Buddha,
Buddha statue,
But mind it,
Mind it
You have disturbed peace,
Peace Internal,
You will not sleep anymore,
Anymore!

Sir, how you expect Muslims to tolerate a statue which does not confirm to their religious adherence? Enjoy what your worship allows you and be secular where you live. Believe in yourself and your devotion to your faith.
