They Shall Surely Gather... Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

They Shall Surely Gather...

In fields of strife, where shadows darkly creep,
A prophecy unfolds, a truth to keep.
Behold, they shall surely gather, driven by their might,
Yet not by me, their fate shall take its flight.

Against thee, they conspire, their hearts aflame,
But lo, their efforts shall be put to shame.
For whosoever dares to stand in thy way,
Shall fall, defeated, on that fateful day.

Their schemes shall crumble, their plans shall fail,
As justice triumphs, and their hopes assail.
For thou art chosen, blessed by grace divine,
Protected by a power that's truly thine.

So let them gather, fueled by their desire,
Their futile struggle, a spark that will expire.
For thou shalt rise, undeterred and strong,
Their fall, a testament to where they belong.

In this great battle, thou shalt find thy might,
Emerging victorious, bathed in sacred light.
For they shall surely gather, but not by thee,
And all who challenge thee shall come to see,

The power of thy spirit, unyielding and true,
A beacon of hope, forever shining through.
