Things Do Change Poem by Angel DesRoches

Things Do Change

People change,
Minds are made up,
And melodies are broken.
Heart's speed,
Lighting shoots all around,
Where is the sound?
Bring on the storm,
Bring on the pain,
While emotions spin.
Who said pain was unreadable?
The worst realization shoots through you.
Words are sung in brightness,
Left alone in the sadness.
Is this the last lullaby?
That'll come inside my soul.
Is this the last time?
You'll get up and walk away?
Is this the last day?
I can call your name.
You'll never understand how lost I feel,
How hard it is to trust,
How hard it is to revel everything,
Build up my hope,
Fall down the latter,
So afraid of losing you,
It's irrational,
Its unreal,
You need to carry me down a path of hope,
Sink into a fall of wonder.
Daze like a dream in a painted sky.
I could find your name scribbled in every lost notebook.
The sound of your voice floods my room.
Learn how to play all the keys on my heart.
How can someone be so good at this?
Mesmerized by someone so special, so crazy, so different.
Wait all my life, for years, each moment,
But for what?
After all, you do know how to save my life.
