Think Of The Day- By Okoemu Barnabas

Just one day,
Every breathing hearts
Will breath their final
Just one day
Every seeing sight
Will see no good or bad
But the result of both
Just one day,
Every living souls shall be shut out of the brightness of this world
Just one day
The mansions will mean nothing
And the cars too
Just one day, we shall die
And our wealth or poverty will be nothing but nothing
I wonder why we wish to died before we die
Fighting and gathering wealth as if our life is forever
Dipping hands in blood as if,
We own ourselves
We all forget that one day is one day
Acquiring properties here and there
Titles upon titles,
Walk on the cloud, stepping on every toes, and rising shoulder high
And we forget, that one day is one day
We never care about one who is naked
Yet we have a box filled that we've not wore for months and hope not to wear in another couple of months
When my Grandfather died, he was buried with only a cloth.
Food wasting before us, yet never thinks of the starving,
Let the fear us!
Let them worship us!
All our minds is,
We tend to forget that just one day,
It all will be nothing,
Do we even think of that day?
When death shall invade us?
Before God or Devil
What will our defence be?
And our plea?
What meaning is our life?
Have you ever help or save people
How well has your existence affect the man next
Is it by being the richest or poorest?
Think about the day!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Gangadharan Nair Pulingat 10 January 2015

Man is not thinking about his end in real life while enjoys. But that is the essence of life and sweetness of the life. Always forgetting to the finality and end of life. The good poet makes a good poem which have social messages on human behavior and it is great one and likes it.
