Thinking Of Spring (In The Middle Of Winter) Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Thinking Of Spring (In The Middle Of Winter)

Hop on my motorcycle with me
I have somewhere to take you
leave your past behind
all your pain and sadness too
leave everything if necessary
we can begin anew

We'll travel lightly
Just you and me
Hold on tightly
feel the engine wind out
as we hit the open highway
and head toward the sun

I want to take you
though the mountians
though the hilly back roads
through the valleys
we'll stop by every lake
or ocean we see
We'll walk hand in hand
and smell the grass
the flowers, the soil and the trees
and the ocean breeze

We'll invent our new life together
as we go along
no plans, no roadmaps
wherever we end up will be OK with me
as long as you're by my side
and I'm with you

We will treasure these memories someday
and I don't want to miss this chance with you
that I've only imagined in dreams
be my girl and let me be your man
Just me and you
on our magic carpet ride
where love is brand new
