Thinking Of The Past Poem by Kimberly Santistevan

Thinking Of The Past

Rating: 0.5

It was so long ago
That I remember letting you go.
I was just a little girl growing up
But I loved how you always treated me
Like I was your whole world.

My days with you
Were filled with those feel-good hugs.
We were both little kids
Thinking that we knew what love really was.

We broke apart within six months
And now I still have a slightly broken heart.
I really liked you
You were my first love.

Over the years
It has been hard for me
To accept that you don't want me.
You are with another girl now
And I have to face it that
You and me will never be together again.

Every time I see you,
Memories come back to my mind
Remembering all those good times.

I thought I really loved you
But when I think of us,
And how it was between you and me.
I don't know what else to do.

It's been almost six years
And the memories will never die.

I know now that
We were never meant for each other.

I will always remember your voice on the phone
And all those smiles that were once for me.

I have to move on since you already have.
I do have someone new
But just keep in mind
That I won't forget about you.
