Thinking Of You Poem by Jennifer Gordon

Thinking Of You

I lay here in my bed.
thinking of you.
Reliving all the memories I have.
as the tears fall down my cheeks.
Crying out when the pain sets in.
When I can’t sleep.
When the memories become to much
and I too weak.

I lay here in my bed
thinking of you.
as the sun jumps and fall
Nothing but you.

I lay in my bed.
While she holds you
and my tears trickle down like slow hail cause she owns you.

I lay in my bed.
starring at the wall.
thinking of you calling out my name
and laughing as we play
on those hot spring days.
I think of the way you looked at me in the garden
the way you brought me to your face
how you held on to me

I think of you how you “just wanted to squeeze me”
and how you wouldn’t really let go.
I just lay here.
wondering what you felt.
aching for the missing puzzle piece
questioning all that I lost
huffing out, crying from frustration and exhaust

thinking how I love you.
and why this happened twice to me.
How I let you go
hating all that I do not know.

I just lay in bed
thinking of you.
