Thirst Poem by Ronald Chapman

Thirst

I made a wish one day.
That love would rain on me.
Never did I think my wish would come true.
Believed I would never meet you.

In a thousand years of tears.
Love has left me as dry as the desert sands.
Before you let me have a drink of your sweet love.
I thought I was going to die of thirst.
Without ever drinking love.

Was it by chance you saved my life?
Deceived by many others with empty glasses.
I have been left dry.

By you showering me with your love, as the sweet wine.
Love has finally quenched my thirst...
