Thirty Minutes To Death Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Thirty Minutes To Death

Thirty minutes to death

I am a student
-of Mesopotamia
-of Middle East
-where the faiths
-and the dynasties
-have flooded and washed
-the banks of rivers, mountains
-and our hearts and minds
-and have been refurbished
-after rusting…
-many times…

I am Question-filled vase
-on what
-is birth
-is life
-is death

Neither do I know
-the Big-Bang,
-nor
-the Big-Rip

Though I have read Rumi
-in original language
-almost in full

He says and I believe:
"Was thing, became animal, "
"From animal to human, "
"Why fear death? "
"Can become angel! ! ! "
"Then after…"

What is struggle for life?
-cannot ignore! ! !
-question! ! !
