This City Poem by Ellen Rose Guilaran

This City

Dark clouds overhead
Signifying new storm is coming
Prepare myself for its cold beneath my skin
Yet the fire burns more within

The vehicle of Artemis guides me home
This journey will take long, said I
But shan't forget the darkness to come
It looms over dry land and into the sea
The fight is never over, and screamed
'Come and get some! '

The grey mists of the skies
Hover even longer
Stretched across its tender white lies and blue skies
To present the dark people hunger for

This season won't last long
But it befits the city
This si where the fun comes
Wild nights and endless party
in Cagayan de Oro City

Might as well call it sin city
Maybe because it's the only city I know
But I'lll let you know
The city is home for dark creatures
The night where they thrive on

The lights are beautiful like this
The mirror on the highway reflects all of its hideous beauty
That's what I like
The city lights, suburbia, and urbanized

I languor in this sin city
To express carnalities within
I try to take out this virgin
And heavily bathe in sin
