This Difference Poem by Emma Alberts

Feeling different in
Every single way
I will not be picked on
For another day

I will stand up for
What I know is right
They will hear my heard
And see my sight

I have my ups
And my downs
Some smiles
Some frowns

I know this difference
Can't get in the way
Of what is right
That's what I say

I am black
And I am proud
I'll speak my mind
And say it LOUD!

So this difference
Won't get in the way
Because I can't take this
For another day

(P.S. I'm really not black, I just was reading a book about black rights and slavery and stuff. So, I decided to write a poem about it. :) I hope you enjoyed!)

What a brave experiment and a fine poem produced as a result. Always a good idea to try to understand how it feels to be in another person's shoes. Thanks.
