This Generation Has Failed The World Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

This Generation Has Failed The World

This Generation has failed the World
Sweet generation of our time,
Forgotten souls in a world of grime,
Fallen we have, oh, so woefully,
In the arms of chaos, we now rest mournfully.
Our ancestors weep as they look down,
Upon a world where greed wears a crown,
Where love and kindness have lost their way,
In the midst of destruction, we now lay.
Technology has consumed our minds,
Leaving our hearts barren and blind,
We seek validation from a virtual screen,
While the real world fades, it's not what it seems.
Nature, once our mother, now we betray,
Polluting her beauty, day by day,
We forgot our duty to protect and preserve,
Now we must face the consequences, and it's hard to observe.
The gap between rich and poor widens,
And the cries of the poor are often silenced,
We turn a blind eye to their struggles and pains,
In the race for wealth, humanity wanes.
Oh, how we have fallen, this generation,
Leaving behind a world in desolation,
Our legacy will be one of despair,
As the earth suffocates, unable to repair.
But let us not lose hope in this saddened state,
For there's still time to change our destiny,
Let us join hands and make a stand,
To heal our world and protect its land.
For we owe it to the generations to come,
To leave behind a world that's not undone,
Let's rise from the ashes of our fall,
And bring back the beauty of this earth for all.
Oh, sweet generation, let us not forget,
The power we hold to make a reset,
To save our planet before it's too late,
And restore its glory, before it meets its fate.
Farewell, dear world, we mourn your loss,
But in our hearts, your memory we'll never toss,
For we will rise, and we will reclaim,
This world, our home, and its true name.
