This Girl Poem by Sarah Riley

This Girl

I look in the mirror
And I see tear-stained eyes.
I don't regonize that girl.
She looks at me,
In desperate need for some hope.
Her heart is breaking
With every teardrop.
I do not know this girl.

I see her a school,
She looks so empty.
I look in her eyes,
I see nothing.
Emptyness, brokenness.
She looks around,
But cannot find what she needs,
I do not know this girl.

She finds his eyes,
The boy's heart breaks.
She found the hope,
The inspiration she needs,
To take another breath.
The sad girl finds a reason to smile.
And suddenly I regonize her,
This girl, is me.
