This I Pledge Poem by Pasquale DiMeola

This I Pledge

Rating: 5.0

Pour out the water from the vase
Lay the wilted gladiolus aside
Tho they have lost their bloom and grace
My heartfelt love is to abide

Abide love's meandering mood
By which time has such a trifling play
Reminiscent of thoughts that soothe
Whenever disappointment clouds our day

Our day is all days palm in hand
Fresh gladiolus we'll pick once more
Leave that vase on the marble stand
Strengthen by heart's steadfast outpour.
