This Is Poem by Francis Duggan

This Is

It does seem a hard thing to try to explain
How somebody's loss becomes somebody's gain
But humanity does seem to work in this way
There are winners and losers in life every day
Though losing is a thing anyone does not choose
For one for to win someone else has to lose
Without losers no winners would you not agree
This is how it is and how it always will be
Not everyone can know of wealth and renown
There are winners and losers in every town
The winner is the one that the masses admire
To be a loser anyone to does never aspire
And without losers no winners would you not agree
This is how it is and how it always will be
