When you leave,
I chain the lock on the door.
As soon as I hug you,
And say goodbye.
The hours pass
While you travel,
And I am with you,
Praying you will make it
To where you are going,
I start to unwind,
Only when I know,
You are settled
In your hotel.
I pour a drink
And watch the "Love Boat, "
Wishing you were here.
Then,
I rustle around,
Checking the locks on the doors again.
I watch a couple more episodes,
And look at the clock.
It is now two thirty.
You are sound asleep.
And I wish I were beside you.
This is how I survive,
When you are gone.
And this is how
Much,
I love you.

Leaving and saying goodbye is so sad. But the locked door and chain can be opened up when life is opened up by key love. An amazing poem is brilliantly penned.10
