This Is How You Keep Me Alive Poem by Arun Maji

This Is How You Keep Me Alive

Rating: 5.0

One day
My touch would grow frail
My thirst for your tender flesh would die
And your sweet voice would fade.

And from distant mountain
Some unknown voice would call
"Come, here is your ultimate abode."

Until that time
We have one chance
To celebrate our togetherness.
Celebrate this night sky
Cool breeze
Our warm touch.

You know my love
I have never had enough of your kiss.
More I kiss you
Thirstier I grow.
This emptiness is often painful.
But this is what keeps me going
Amongst all pain and hopelessness.

It's hard to tell you
I am often agonised observing this world.
Distressed, I look at your face
And plant a kiss on your lips.
My pain disappears.

This is how
You keep me alive.
