This Is War Poem by Duncan Kwatemba

This Is War

Struggling each minute for survival,
Never knowing what happens next,
Everyone's in oblivion, a delirium,
You can only hope for the best
The blasting sounds of machine guns.
It is scary.
Everybody running for their lives,
Running for survival.
Both children, women and men,
All follow suit,
Nobody comes to stand for them.
It is scary.
Who will save them?
Deafening, numbing explosions everywhere,
Nobody cares for the children and pregnant women,
It is war. It is scary.
Nobody escapes,
Thick dark-red clouds covers the sky,
It is about to rain blood,
Nobody is spared,
Only the rich!
