What did they do to you
the little girl who had such a heart
The little girl who was her father's shadow
what did they do to you
to break you so inside
the girl who was to be my lover
what did they do to you to crush your hope
and create in you a vile hatred
that left you hollow
What they do to you to make you so tortured
and left feeling so unable to feel anything but your own pain
what can I do
to help you see
that someone loves you
even though you could never find love for me
and we could never be together
still, I wish I could wipe your tears and kiss your soul
just so you would know
it was not your fault you had a heart
