This Old Man - Make Me Not Poorer Than This! Poem by Jacson Gelato

This Old Man - Make Me Not Poorer Than This!

I asked my mom not to pamper me

I asked my father not to scold me

I asked my teacher not to overload me

I asked my doctor not to inject me;

I asked my barber not to cut my hair so short

I asked my tailor not to stitch my clothes so tight,

I asked my dog not to bark at strangers

I asked my cat not to sleep in my bed;

I asked my boss not to give me overtime

I asked my car not to over-speed in town,

I asked the police not to use the Alcometer on me

I asked my wife not to disturb my peace,

I asked my son not to over-spend my money

I asked my God not to make me poorer than this.
