The Woman I Once Loved And Lost Poem by Jacson Gelato

The Woman I Once Loved And Lost

Rating: 5.0

If you had not to go
you would have still been in my arms
with the delight of promises
harnessing an explicit harmony
in my heart;
we had shared youthful days
of love and laughter
but you decided to leave
without any justification.
You had come in my life
just like a crab
that comes to any shore
imposing a hole
getting there deep inside.

In my heart you kept drilling a hole,
intoxicating me with a passion
making me dance with ecstasy;
but when the wave of deflection came
you just went back
into the sea of freedom
shattering my dreams,
receding my trust in you.
It did not hurt me
it did not hurt you;
we were young and ready to forget
we were careless and willing to forgive.

But as I lived, as I grew up,
I realized a love that is lost
was better not to have it at all
as on those shores of pain
comes a memory of regret
which tells me the words-
the girl I did not marry,
the love I did not endure
the yesterday I did not hold back;
and today makes me weep
as it bring images
of you before my eyes
and how passionately you kissed me;
that passion I never found
in any other woman I loved.
