This Planet Earth. Poem by Graham Jones

This Planet Earth.

Come what may this planet earth
With tongue in cheek and stifled mirth
For our sins we constant ravage
Civilized, yet still the savage

One step forward, two steps back
So now we are upon the rack
Stripping forests, its alarming
Ice-caps melt to global warming

This is man, not evolution
Reckless wars and more pollution
This is fact not that of fiction
This planet earth will face extinction

Its time to act, if not to late
Nations should put aside their hate
To act as one, for the common good
Or perish in the coming flood.
