This Poem Asks The Question; Why? Poem by Nichole Kaci McKnight

This Poem Asks The Question; Why?

Tell me why there are blue birds in the sky?
Please tell me why my little sister had to die?
Why can’t some of us find true love’s embrace?
Can you tell me why some people live in disgrace?
Why do most politician’s like to tell lies to our face?
I don’t know why stars and meteors fall from the sky?
Why is a good question to ask in the month of July?
Tell me why it’s hard for us to say goodbye?
Why do we always ask the question why?

Note: This poem is dedicated to my deceased sister, Tchinina. May God rest her soul.
