This Side Of Heaven’s Door

Before our race is finally run
Before the end draws near
Consider life before its gone
And death’s cold hands appear

We walk as many gone before
We live and toil in vain
When suddenly death’s gaping jaw
Is calling once again

We’d like to run, we’d like to hide
Our knees we’d like to bend
Yet when we finally go inside
We see it’s not the end

We’ll see The Truth we’ll see The Light
We’ll see the masses cry
When found without a robe of white
Have once again to die

But death no sinful soul will claim
Beyond their master’s door
With Satan in the pit of flame
They’ll burn forever more

Too long we’ve been the devil’s fool
Living his evil lie
Breaking The Father’s every rule
Thinking it safe to die

Its now! We need to bend our knee
Be found in Jesus’ hand
Receive The Father’s guarantee
For life as always planned

Regardless how we’ve lived in shame
How much we’ve sinned before
Seek mercy now in Jesus’ name
This side of hell’s wide door
