This Thing Called Love Poem by Dajon Fleming

This Thing Called Love

Afraid, broken, and confused by this heart of mine
You left me feeling used but yet this lost love I cling to
Fresh air is what I want to breathe, but I'm still breathing you
New shoes I want to walk in, but I keep walking towards you
And what I feel on my skin is the feeling you use to give me
Trapped is what I am in this thing called Love
But is it really love when I don't feel free, when i cant find the girl i used to be
When my heart aches and my body heats up, when I want to go to sleep and never wake up
Pain is what I call this thing called love
Fear is what I call it too
Cause I'm to scared to sing how I feel about you
To let you know that your the one that makes me feel whole, but now I'm just a bottomless pit
I want to ween myself off of you, but I just cant quit
I just cant seem to put this hope away
Let you go and let the wind carry it away
Let my body feel free and take these chains off of me
So I wont be a slave to this thing called love
So I can let you go cause I've had enough
I've had enough of looking at you and wanting to cry
I've had enough of this dead feeling inside
Maybe one day it wont be you I think of when I think of this thing called LOVE
