Thomas Poem by Cecilia Parkin

Thomas

My mind some days
Recalls it all
That once you were here
And then - no more.!
How many ways
Can you be missed? ,
You who once I'd softly kissed-
As I held you nestled in my arms
Warm and soft and full of charm.

Your gentle tap when attention you'd seek
Soft fan of breath against my cheek,
Rhythmic hum as on my lap,
You listened, and then answered back.

Your playfullness and sense of fun,
The haughty look at my rebuff.
Ever faithful - nothing held back.
Was how I knew you - Thomas my cat.
