Those eyes say it all.
In the beginning those eyes brought happiness,
So bright, beautiful, and full of life.
Those eyes were the reason I smiled.
Those eyes are the eyes I miss.
As time went on, those eyes grew brighter,
You didn’t have to say a thing, your eyes said it all,
For in that moment time stopped, it was just you and me,
Eyes locked, in a moment not easily forgotten.
Then those eyes began to look away,
Drawn towards others, and distracted by the past.
Those eyes began to see me in a new way,
I gave you everything but those eyes saw it as a lie.
Those eyes only began to see the wrong,
Only ever interested in a fight.
I would stay up all night, fighting for myself,
Dreaming, hoping those eyes could remember the good.
Those eyes say it all,
The last time our eyes meet,
My heart was shattered.
For there was only sadness and hatred.
In those eyes, I laid my trust.
Those eyes drove my heart and brightened my day,
But now those eyes broke my heart for,
Those eyes said it all.
'Those eyes' are very expressive. Loved your work. I guess Love is like that in most case... starts with a spark... turns into fire and slowly fades off... and it is beautifully expressed in your poem.
I am saddened by this poem. I guess that's the point...well written
