Though I'M Broken Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Though I'M Broken

Rating: 5.0

We never touched
We never held hands
Or shared a kiss
But in this broken heart
It's you I most miss

You never saw me cry
You never asked me why
You brought me my dreams
And my brightest hopes
We never said goodbye

I look for you in this hall of words
I trace the music of your steps
and follow bare footprints you've left
And trace the silhouette of where you slept
And analyze the secrets that you kept

I count the days since you've been gone
I see the grass and flowers in the lawn
and the only place I felt I belonged
Was in your arms for which I longed
Across the sea of tears we've wept

I try hard to carry on alone
No texts or messages, no way to phone
I wonder if your're alive or dead
I try to feel your spirit in my head
But end up lost in loneliness instead

But if you can feel my spirt broken
Know the only words I meant to say
The ones you never yet heard
The words most dear and unspoken
I love you, though my heart itself is broken
