Though Many In Time Poem by Francis Duggan

Though many in time do learn the wordsmith trade
The great poets are born and cannot be made
And though most poets for their work never receive pay
With the usage of words they do have a way
Some poets in their lifetime not even well known
Though in death a legend around them has grown
But for them by then it is all far too late
For the dead cannot hear when them we celebrate
For many writing's a 'hungry belly game'
And from it they never grow wealthy or never know of fame
Though so many writers from memory fade
The greats they are born and cannot be made
So many must falter for one to succeed
And of life's successes we only do read.
