Thoughts From A Rainy Day Poem by Victor Sapkota

Thoughts From A Rainy Day

What happened b’yond the sky
That people called it heaven’s tears?
Do Gods and Angels cry
Hid by the clouds and it appears?

O! What might be the pain
That leads to Gods’ and Angels’ cry?
Can I ’magine the ’mount of rain?
The pain it measures by?

The misdeeds and the suff’rings of
The creatures bless’d by Sun
Is that why there’s the curtain of
The clouds You pulled along?

I know it makes You further cry
But let it be as so.
I’ve been a wretch, a waste of my
dear mother’s months of woe.

Now every time I walk along
The streets a rainy day,
My sins be washed and since today
A good son I be may.

Flourish the trees, nourish me by
The nectar of Your eyes.
Your earth’s still beautiful to fly.
We’ll help each other rise.

(Your tear has washed away the fear
That gnashed my heart inside.
Why fear when you know He is near
And truth you never hide?)

From now, when I see someone with the nectar in his eyes
Of molten heart that’s melted with the heat of pain, and cries—
For help, for mercy, injury or justice ever be,
May I remember heaven’s tears and serve him (Him) heartily.
