Thoughts On Finding 20 Euro Poem by Gerard O'Rourke

Thoughts On Finding 20 Euro

One day with hands deep in my pockets
and head bent to the ground.
Just blowing softly in the wind
20 Euro's what I found.
When I realized where I had stopped
Outside a local boozer.
So in I popped and bought a drink
Which I toasted to the loser.

It was only when I thought of it
that I bowed my head in shame.
For the loser should of had a chance
for their 20 Euro to reclaim.
So feeling very guilty
And to console the wrong I'd done.
I whistled to the barman
And I had another ONE!
