Thoughts Upon The Construction Of A Swing Poem by Jonzo Bandwagoner

Thoughts Upon The Construction Of A Swing

I wish I knew how to build a swing,
A beautiful thing that would sway
The right way, or (at this point) a swing
That would just swing at all.

You’re going to laugh the moment you see it,
It wobbles and fits—a mind of its own—
Truth be known, upon construction, I
Messed up four times;

—It took me a while,
And blood and tears were shed
In the process—

If only it would swing to the sun,
We could—if you’d like—take a trip,
Not coming down. Hopefully
You like it; I’m laughing at myself!
