Thread Poem by Emily None

Thread

She walks through the cold
her once blue eyes made of stone.
She said her tears would slow her down.
This is how she leaves town.
On her lips there is thread.
It keeps the words inside her head.
Theres no way it can slip.
No way to move her lips.
She makes her way through the crowd
but the voices are way too loud.
She shoves her fingers in her ears
so she wont have to hear.
She's tired of the lies
that everything is fine.
It's no use
she'll just have to take the abuse.
Her eyes of stone form a crack
and the tears come back.
The doctor pulls her fingers out of her ears
and whispers the words she fears.
He says shes insane.
That only shes to blame for her pain.
He pulls out a needle
and the thread muffles her scream.
A nurse has her arms pinned
as she waits for this to end.
He puts her in a jacket.
She doesn't seem to like it.
He locked her in a cell.
Her story she can never tell.
A tear rolls down her cheek.
She got her wish she wont speak.
