Through New Eyes Poem by Katheryn Foley

Through New Eyes

I got rid of the memories,
I moved from the view,
I ended the sadness,
And the heartache too,

You tried to show me what love is,
But instead you showed me what its not,
It was only a web of lust,
And in its maze we were caught.

A heart of fire,
Resisting the flame,
Turning over a new leaf,
Starting a new game.

This time there will be real love,
Passionate, trusting, pure, fitting like a glove,
My soul mate for life,
My new name a wife.
