Thus Let The Light Shine Poem by Ella Veyes

Thus Let The Light Shine

From heaven came a song once heard
By poets bleak, by prophets worn.
Though be it poignant, eloquent,
It took their souls from which ‘twas born.

From heaven sang the angel chord,
It’s beauty sworn an oath of bliss.
But ugly deviation with it said
Either be it hell, or be it this.

From heaven fell a shanty tune,
Fierce and deceiving as the sea.
Both lover and widow alike,
Thus lost to dark impiety.

From heaven, though, then came a song,
Newly composed, caught in the breeze.
Sang it off faith and hope renewed,
Sang it; ‘Sic Luceat Lux’.
