Tick Tock Poem by melissa eckert

Tick Tock

emily nervously tapped her foot on the concrete floor;
she couldnt concentrate for another minute, or her head would explode.
the clock struck one...
she stared into the darkness;
and donw at the balck sheet of paper in front of her;
munutes were passing like seconds
the clock struck two...
suddnely the sound of shattering glass stopped emily, causing her heart to skip a beat.
startled, but not moving, she ignored it and clsoed her eyes.
blackness surrounded the fading light,
causing adrenaline and anxiety to take over
the clock struck three...
out of the darkness, an oasis began to appear.
palm trees swayed, the ocean screamed,
and the sounds of freedom could be heard for miles.
the clock struck four....
